Paintings featured in New American Paintings #89

Detroit Historical Museum, Detroit, Michigan

Behind every dress, there is a story. The story behind this dress has two hundred years, two artists, and one city.

Inspired by the deep rooted history of Detroit, Michigan, two Detroit artists, Christina Liedtke, Founder and Creative Director of Christiana J. Paul, http://christianajpaul.com/, and Alex Fedirko, nationally known Landscape Painter, designed a hand painted couture gown for the Detroit Historical Society Fashion Exhibition 2015 - 2016.

Through thoughtful exploration, the structure of the gown made with 15 yards of silk gazar, the hand paintings, and the waistline holistically come together developing an iconic viewpoint that symbolizes Detroit’s history and journey in timelessness and beauty.

Opening on August 29, 2015, the “Streets of Detroit” gown will be featured at the Detroit Historical Museum located at 5401 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48202. For more information go to www.detroithistorical.org

Live painting auctioned off at 2013 Detroit Historical Society Gala

I recently donated my time and artwork to the Detroit Historical Society's Anual Gala at the historic Filmore Theater. The turnout for the event was tremendous and my painting helped raise money to support the Historical Society. I painted live in the lobby during the preview of the auction items, then got moved to the stage where I continued to work on the painting until it was up for auction. Here is a link of my pic in Hour Detroit.
